Home made bread in the classroom.

Our Science topic this term is Micro-organisms. After studying the purpose of yeast during our Science lessons, we researched the way that bread is manufactured in a factory and then how it can be made at home. (We will compare and contrast these two processes.) We also created flow charts. Today we made bread in the classroom.

Please enjoy these photos...

The bread was really yummy.

Will keep you posted about what the students said...

Excursion to Sydney

Today Year Six ventured into the CBD of Sydney.

The purpose of the excursion was to think about what has shaped Australian Identity.

Students were asked to think about an aspect of the HSIE outcome to focus upon. Most students decided to look at places and some were to look at people.

Students were asked to collect visual images that would be transferred into an iMovie.

The product will be created at school and can also include images from the internet, text, student voice and music.

I focused on one small aspect of change as I looked at places. Please enjoy some images that I collected.

I found the various light fixtures very interesting...

Please enjoy some photos of the students...

We walked from Circular Quay, past Cadman's Cottage, up some very worn stairs through the Rocks area, up Argyle Street, under the bridge and back to Circular Quay. The bus picked us up at First Fleet Park and we drove to Darling Harbour and alighted at the IMAX theatre. Lunch overlooking the Harbour and then we walked past the Commonwealth Bank and the Chinese Gardens and up to Dixon St. Here we walked and shopped. A fun day was enjoyed by all.
