Year Six are working on a Recipe for a Perfect World

Today we read the book Recipe for a Perfect World by Kim Michelle Toft. The students brainstormed ideas for their 'Perfect World'. We thought about what global problems needed solving and also about the rights of humans to live in peace and freedom. Then it was all about the recipe. Would it be a cake, a pizza or even a pie?

The students were excited and inspired. Recipes to follow once they are published.

HSIE - Global Connections

How are we globally connected. Each student brought in products from home to investigate. We looked at where in the world they came from...

Our discussions then concentrated on what are they many ways we are connected globally...

Visual Literacy

We are All Born Free is the title of the book that we are studying in Year 6.

We are discussing this book to see the visuals created by various artists  and illustrators of the human rights that the Universal Declaration decided   in 1948.  A human right is something that we should be allowed to do or be.

Here we are looking at some if the human rights in the book 'We Are All Born Free'. Each student received a picture from the book and had to write what we thought the picture meant or represented.
